Injuries
Luuk de Jong has been ruled out of the remainder of the tournament having picked up a knee injury. However, the Sevilla forward has only played ten minutes in two sub appearances so far and it’s possible his loss will not impact the Dutch side much. Frank de Boer chose to rest Atalanta midfielder Marten de Roon in the final group game so that he would be safe from suspension in this round; he should return in place of Ajax teenager Ryan Gravenberch.
Czech left-back Jan Boril will miss this game having picked up a second yellow card in the game against England. Hoffenheim full-back Pavel Kaderabek could slot into the left-back slot instead of Boril with no other obvious options at left-back for Jaroslav Silhavy. It’s not hard to understand why Netherlands are the favourites in this game, with most bookies not offering more than 1.70 against a win for the Oranje.
